WHAT IS  SILVER WINGS

Silver Wings is a National Joint Co-Ed  organization that focuses on Community Service, Professional Development, and Civic Awareness. We are a civilian auxiliary group associated with Air Force ROTC. Each chapter is comprised of students at different universities that volunteer in their communities and  increase professional skills through interactions with other organizations and workshops. Silver wings holds regional and national conclaves each year where members are able to travel across the country to gain valuable leadership skills and experience in a professional business environment.

AUBURN SILVER WINGS

The John "Boots" Stratford chapter at Auburn University was founded in 1960 by the detachments commander Lt Col Gillespie Sr, originally as Angel Flight. Our chapter at Detachment 005 is comprised of diverse and involved individuals that have formed and developed lifelong leadership abilities and friendships. We strive to excel in leadership, scholarship, and friendship every day to better ourselves intellectually and as a chapter. Personal development, professional development, and civic awareness is our focus, but we also love to have fun too!

The John "Boots" Stratford chapter of Silver Wings was proud to host the headquarters of National Headquarters in 2012-2013, 2014-2015, and 2017-2018 and Region V in 2013-2014 and 2017-2018. We are also very proud to have been awarded the John Burdette Binkley Award for the Most Outstanding Chapter of Silver Wings for the  2010-2011 year!
